Preguntas frecuentes

Quick answers.

What is the difference between MB/s and MiB/s?

A megabyte (MB) is 1,000,000 bytes, while a mebibyte (MiB) is 1,048,576 bytes. This 4.8% difference is why a drive might appear smaller in your operating system than on the box.

Why are internet speeds measured in bits instead of bytes?

Networking standards traditionally use bits per second (bps) to measure the serial flow of data. To find your approximate download speed in bytes, divide the megabit (Mbps) value by eight.

Does this tool account for network overhead?

No. These are raw mathematical conversions. Real-world transfers are usually 10-20% slower due to TCP/IP headers, congestion, and protocol overhead.

Are the results calculated on a server?

No. All conversions are performed locally using your browser's engine. No data about your bandwidth or calculations is transmitted to our servers.
